During the last two weeks of February the Grade 2s have been enjoying swimming lessons.

The first week of March was a week of firsts for SOTE's prep students - first swimming lessons, first attempts at writing words, and first school photos!

Towards end-February the Year 8 class went to Leslie Dam to participate in two activities under the guidance of a YMCA instructor. In the morning, students were given two challenges to solve in indoor exercises, and in the afternoon the students were required to work in teams to build rafts.

Each and every day in Grade Five the class discusses a Word of the Day. This week our Collective Noun was for a group of unicorns. Who would have thought that a group of unicorns is called a blessing?

The Grade 2 class in anticipation of further precipitation have made some rain gauge people to keep an eye on things.

This week Year 9 Discovery students participated in an excursion to Toowoomba. It is always lovely to see students shine in different environments outside the 4 walls of a classroom.

The teacher development program for this term is looking at the qualities of an effective teacher.

Grade 2 students are learning about the water cycle.

Our Preps have had a very good start at school. It is wonderful to see the children getting used to the new routines, teachers and friends.

On Friday January 24 our new school families attended Orientation Day.
